For PastaRamen's private dining area, we designed and built a zen garden installation that sits on an elevated ledge overlooking the dining space below. The project began from sketch to concept, developing a composition that would bring stillness and Japanese sensibility into an intimate dining environment. We sourced Japanese florals, vases, vessels, and water fountains, curating each element to contribute to the overall material language of the piece. Preserved moss and driftwood became the foundation of the garden, offering texture, warmth, and a sense of age without the demands of maintenance. Every element was placed with hierarchy and intention, allowing the installation to feel both composed and natural. Sitting above the diners, the garden occupies the space quietly, grounding the room with a meditative presence that complements rather than competes with the experience below.
