The New Museum

Ikebana‑informed table arrangements designed for the New Museum's biannual gala in collaboration with Erin Design. Paired compositions spanned horizontally across dining tables, each set designed as a conversation between a larger and smaller form. Guided by ikebana principles of line, hierarchy, and sequential rhythm, the pieces sat as centerpieces that commanded presence without interrupting the space between guests.

For the New Museum's biannual gala, we collaborated with Erin Design to create paired ikebana table arrangements that served as centerpieces across the dining tables. Each pair was designed as a sequential composition, one larger and one smaller, speaking to each other across the table through line, proportion, and hierarchy.

The arrangements extended horizontally rather than vertically, allowing the compositions to move with the length of the tables while keeping sightlines open between guests. Rooted in ikebana principles, every placement and line was intentional, creating a sense of rhythm and quiet dialogue that repeated across the room. The result was a space where each table held its own composed moment while contributing to a larger, unified experience.
